Blakbone in Print!
23 JulLast summer, so many of our supporters pitched in to help give 1134 Press/1134 Comix a jump start. It worked out great, and we were able to meet almost all of our goals since then. We began production on a printed collection of 1134 Comix web comics, and a few months ago were able to publish the book! It can be found here, and soon will be available at our own shop. Speaking of our own shop, there are still limited copies of Gestalt available there–check it out if you don’t have a copy!
Now, we are very close to finishing the next printed Blakbone story. See some of the penciled pages below:
This book features a bunch of our supporters as characters–and they all have important roles in the story! Unfortunately, you can’t see many of them in the above photo (sorry about that). The book is 22 pages long – a regular size comic book – and page 20 is currently being drawn. We hope to have this published by the end of summer/early fall. That said, these this things always take longer than we hope …
Keep a lookout for The Outer Space Adventures of Blakbone, where you will see our favorite anti-hero travel the cosmos and, with the help of a new cast of characters, face one of his old enemies!

Blakbone is in Print!
21 AprAfter quite a process, followed by quite a wait, The Adventures of Blakbone is finally available at Indy Planet!
We want to thank all of our supporters who helped make it possible to create this collection. And on that note, the art for the next Blakbone comic is well underway. We are shooting for a summertime release. The next story features some of our favorite readers–look for them in the pages of next issue!

What do you Think?
11 JanAs we dot our Is and cross our Ts in preparation to send The Adventures of Blakbone and Other Stories to the printer, we’ve been brainstorming the next web-comic. We’ve come up with two ideas that we like. The working titles are, Pussies of Tomorrow and Shifty Elephant. This is were you come in.
What would you rather see become the next 1134 web-comic?
A) Pussies of Tomorrow
This web-comic would follow a group of spacefaring cats. They would go on adventures full of zaniness and enough cat themed jokes to make you puke.
Or,
B) Shifty Elephant
This web-comic would be a detective story featuring, you guessed it, a shifty elephant. It would follow (for the most part) a standard detective noir story structure and would definitely make use of as many tropes as possible.
As we work on the next chapter of Blakbone (The Outer Space Adventures of Blakbone), we will be checking our responses to this poll here and on social media. We hope to have the next Blakbone story out by summer time; after which we plan to start the next web-comic series.
So, coming up at 1134 Comix:
- The Adventures of Blakbone and Other Stories (the official, final release date will be announced this month!)
- The Outer Space Adventures of Blakbone (Planning to release the full story in print by summer ’18)
- Either Shifty Elephant, or Pussies of Tomorrow (web-comic to start by Summer ’18

Blakbone: Conclusion (for now)

So, there’s the long awaited last page of the, now concluded, Blakbone story arc. The next leg of the adventure is in the works–and will feature a bunch of our supporters too! We’re planning to have that out there real soon (just about every time I give a timeframe for any of these projects, I’m way off . . . so, lets go with “real soon” for now).

Coming up for 1134 Comix / Press
4 NovHello everybody,
First off, we’d like to again thank all of our supporters. We have a number of exciting things on the horizon that you helped make possible. The following are a handful of the things that we have in the works for the few months or so:
- There is a trade paper back size book in the works. It is a collection of the entire Blakbone story, from the very beginning to the most previous installment. It also collects most of the other web-comics published by 1134 Comix (and previous incarnations) over the years. The book is almost complete and near ready for print!
- This was mentioned months ago, but still hasn’t happened yet: 1134 Comix will be updating. Soon, you will be able to read the comics in a much more traditional and user friendly way. Keep a lookout for that.
- The next arc of Blakbone will begin. This story will continue his adventure into outer space. It will also feature our supporters! The story and art is in production now and a completed (regular comic size) book is planned for this winter (early 2018).
That all said, with the exception of an already planned update to Blakbone, there will be very few new web-comics posted on the site for the next handful of weeks. They will be back later this year with regular updates–and the stories will be going in a whole new direction!
